July 30 Meeting: The Art, Technology, and Process of Custom Signage

Step outside of the cubicle and away from the computer on Thursday, July 30, as we learn about what goes into designing and creating a custom sign. Rodney’s Custom Cut Signs is a nationally recognized sign manufacturer and it’s partner company, Ink Waves, offers both large- and small-format digital printing. A sign shop is truly where the digital world intersects with real-world materials.

At this meeting, we’ll hear from the designers who envision some of Raleigh’s most amazing signs. They will share how Adobe software is used in conjunction with software specific to the sign industry.  Then we’ll tour the Rodney’s/InkWaves 45,000 square foot, state-of-the art fabrication facility, which includes a metal shop, wood shop, paint shop, and more! Finally, we will learn how Rodney’s production team brings these signs to life.

Come, be inspired and learn what your designs can become! Rodney’s/Ink Waves has an abundance of free, nearby parking, and is very easy to get to.

As always, we will have complementary pizza and drinks. Raffle tickets are available for a $1.00 donation. Our raffle will include a variety of InDesign-related plugins.
